CIVILIAN POLICE ACADEMY - OCPCPA

The Oelwein Police Department is announcing the first Oelwein Police Department Civilian Police Academy. This interactive, hands on, 10-week program will run on Wednesday evenings starting Oct. 6, from 6:p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the RAMS building. The goal is for attendees to have the opportunity to experience police work within the community and will include such topics as basic crime scene investigation, basic patrol, canine, traffic stops, bike patrol, criminal law, use of force, emergency communications - 911, special response unit, crime statistics, and a practical ride-along with an officer.
